Empowering the Youth – Kendriya Vidyalaya Kirandul Celebrates International Youth Day

On the occasion of International Youth Day, the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Kirandul showcased their creativity, awareness, and sense of responsibility towards society. The day was observed with various activities aimed at inspiring young minds and encouraging them to contribute positively to the nation.
Students expressed their admiration for the great spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda by creating vibrant paintings reflecting his vision, courage, and message of self-confidence. Through their art, they highlighted his famous ideals – “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached” – which continue to motivate generations. In the literary segment, students wrote thoughtful essays on the theme of International Youth Day. They explored the challenges faced by today’s youth, such as unemployment, peer pressure, digital distractions, and lack of guidance, while also presenting practical solutions like skill development, career counselling, physical fitness, and mental well-being awareness.
Another remarkable activity was letter-writing to the Ministry of Youth Affairs, where students addressed real concerns of young people in India and suggested solutions. These included promoting vocational training, increasing sports infrastructure, and strengthening platforms for youth participation in social causes. The celebration reflected the National Education Policy 2020’s emphasis on holistic development, creativity, and critical thinking. It was not just a day of activities, but a reminder that the youth are the driving force of a nation’s progress. The enthusiasm and sincerity of Kendriya Vidyalaya Kirandul’s students made the occasion meaningful. By blending art, writing, and civic engagement, the school succeeded in nurturing not just academic knowledge, but also social awareness and leadership qualities in its young learners.

World Scout Scarf Day – Spreading the Spirit of Scouting

On 1st August, Kendriya Vidyalaya Kirandul proudly celebrated World Scout Scarf Day, a special occasion for Scouts and Guides worldwide to wear their scarves in public and share the spirit of Scouting.
Members of the school’s Bharat Scouts and Guides came together to create awareness about the significance of the scarf. Wearing the scarf is not merely a tradition – it is a symbol of commitment to the Scout Promise and Law, representing unity, discipline, and service to others. The highlight of the day was a motivational address by the Scout Master, who explained the deeper meaning of wearing the scarf. He shared that the scarf is a badge of honour, worn by millions of Scouts across the globe, reminding each member of their duty towards the community, nature, and humanity. It is a mark of readiness to help, to lead, and to live by the values of honesty, kindness, and respect.
Students were encouraged to wear the scarf proudly, not only during Scout activities but also on this day as a sign of belonging to the worldwide Scouting family. The Scout Master also inspired students from non-Scouting groups to join the movement, highlighting its benefits – leadership skills, adventure opportunities, character building, and lifelong friendships. The campaign saw Scouts visiting classrooms and public areas of the school, interacting with peers, and explaining the message of World Scout Scarf Day. Their enthusiasm and dedication helped spread awareness about the values that Scouting stands for. By the end of the day, many students expressed interest in joining the Scouts and Guides, making the celebration not just symbolic but also impactful in growing the spirit of service, adventure, and unity.
